Yoga for Kids

We all come to yoga to experience a healthy body, mind, and a happy heart. Children deserve to learn the same love and understanding yoga has to offer. Kids yoga can offer grounding, strength, and awareness to students by incorporating asanas and breath with fun mindfulness activities and games (for younger kids).

Yoga for kids and teens has so many benefits and helps them to succeed in their life journeys! SolarYou Yoga offers a yoga for kids program this fall led by @Isabella Carvajal!

While we all know yoga helps with flexibility and strength, its primary goal is to help practitioners to control wandering minds. Kids learn how to be present and mindful, they get an instrument to manage anxiety and enhance children’s concentration and memory. Last but not the least, yoga teaches discipline and reduces impulsivity, helping them to be responsive and not reactive.

We are planning to offer a group approximately 9-12 years old and we are open to your requests if you have kids of other ages who are interested in yoga. Program consists of 8 sessions and is sold as a one package.

ABOUT ISABELLA CARVAJAL

Isabella has been a dedicated yoga student since the age of 17, when she first started practicing Baptiste yoga in North Texas. She completed her first 200-hour teacher training in the Baptiste power yoga system at the age of 18. She taught Baptiste Power yoga while finishing up her Bachelors in Psychology at the University of North Texas. Isabella then moved to Washington where she completed a second 200-hour Bikram and Power yoga teacher training. During this time, she began working as an ABA therapist for children on the autism spectrum. She brought yoga to her workplace and implemented yoga into all of her clients’ programs. Isabella saw how this practice improved kid’s emotional regulation and how that positively affected other areas of their lives. That’s when she decided to dive deeper into that and completed a kids yoga training through YogaCalm which is geared to build resilience in children. Additionally, she most recently completed a 200-hour in Ashtanga/Rocket Yoga at the Yoga with Carson Academy.

Isabella's yoga practice holds her accountable for how she is showing up in her life and where she is staying in her comfort zone. She wants her students to experience the same. With her background in different yoga systems, she strives to create a safe and empowering environment that honors the roots of yoga while providing a safe place to be true with yourself and grow.
