Covid-19 Protocol

SOLARYOU Yoga COVID-19 Protocol

Dear students and customers of SolarYou Yoga,

Your wellbeing, safety, health and happiness are our top priority. We are happy to provide you with in-studio yoga and cardio classes that meet all Phase 2 Fitness and Training Reopening Requirements created by the state of Washington.

Our bright spacious ECO studio has ~1200 sqft practice room and overall 2100sq ft space to provide you with required personal space where you can enjoy semi-private yoga practice or cardio exercises.

SolarYou Yoga is a brand new “local mom operated business” and is severely impacted by COVID-19. Having your support is crucial for our studio. If you are not feeling comfortable practicing in the studio in Phase 2 please join us online since each class is available online as well. You can practice with us as long as you like or until Phase 3 or Phase 4.

While our brand new studio has gorgeous amenities some of them are not available in Phase 2:

  • Lounge room tea are not available

  • Mat rentals are temporarily not available

We are promising to bring them all back when it is safe to use. In meanwhile, you still can buy bottled juices and water from us.

Cleaning protocols

  • We have generous time breaks between sessions enough to clean used equipment and the most affected areas: floor, door knobs, common areas, and reception desk items.  We follow Safer Cleaning, Sanitizing and Disinfecting Strategies to Reduce and Prevent COVID-19 Transmission, UWDEOHS https://osha.washington.edu/sites/default/files/documents/FactSheet_Cleaning_Final_UWDEOHS_0.pdf

  • Our brand new studio is built with ECO materials  without PVC to accommodate safe deep breathing practices during yoga classes

TEACHERS INSTRUCTIONS

Our teachers safety is also a top priority for our studio. While we love assisting you in your practice no hands / touch on assistance, nor demoing anywhere except yoga teacher mat are available in Phase 2.

Our teachers are masters of verbal cueing so you won’t get less attention throughout a session or left unseen in your practice.

Any employee (teacher) must:

  • Inform studio owner if they experience COVID-19 or any flu symptoms or were in contact with confirmed prior coming to the studio

  • Leave home immediately if they feel sick

  • Wash/sanitize hands prior and after each session; wash hands frequently

  • Use verbal cues only (no assistance)

  • Lead the whole practice from the designated teachers mat (do not approach students or demoing anywhere else in the room)

  • Wear face coverings in common areas except those who have medical conditions that stop them from that; or when the job has no personal interactions

  • Employee should put gloves on if any product or item needs to be touched prior sale

  • Inform students about fatal risks of doing intensive yoga/cardio indoor practice wearing masks up to falling from inversions and arm balances and losing consciousness and having signed liability waiver if they prefer to do so

PRACTITIONERS PROTECTION & CONDUCT CODE

Prior to arriving at the session each practitioner is responsible to cancel their appointment if they experience COVID-19 symptoms, cough, sore throat, fever 100.4F or higher, vomiting, diarrhea, shortness of breath or were in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.

All practitioners on premises should:

  • Wash their hands prior arriving to the studio and after the class or any bathroom use. Hand sanitizers are available in restrooms and at the practice room entrance

  • Wearing mask in common areas is recommended if they do not have any health issues preventing them from doing so

  • Check (optional) their temperature and leave the facility if temperature is 100.4F or more

  • Maintain 6 feet distance to the greatest extent possible

  • Leave used equipments (such as blocks) on the floor after practice so staff can clean them up after the session

  • We kindly ask to arrive in fitness attire. If you need space to change please ask our staff and we provide you with designated space that is cleaned after every use

  • SolarYou Yoga does not allow practicing in masks. You are encouraged to wear masks everywhere on premises except on your mat. According to reports on CDC conference, first deaths and injuries are happening in the USA due to wearing face coverings. When people lose consciousness due to lack of oxygen they fall down without regrouping and their head hits the ground first. Such falls lead to severe head injuries, disability or deaths. We support spreading infection by encouraging our students to wear masks on premises but we are not allowed to wear face coverings on the mat during yoga or cardio classes due to high risk of passing out that leads to death. To mitigate this request, we provide over 1200 sqft practice room and 6+ feet distance during the practice. In addition, we are offering online classes or 1-1 sessions now or kindly suggest waiting for Phase 3 when bigger groups of people are allowed practicing together.

  • SolarYou Yoga studio reserves a right to ask you to leave if practitioners are not following business rules

Practitioners must arrive for in-studio sessions no later than 10 minutes prior the class start to support SolarYou Yoga efforts in creating safe, clean and vibrant experience for semi-private yoga classes. Doors are locked 3 minutes prior class. No access to the studio when the session is in progress.

Practice online if you are not comfortable with the idea of sharing the space with other people until further phases. To check the space make an appointment to visit the studio prior signing up for the class to verify it fits your safety criteria. Your emotional state and peace of mind has a significant impact on your health and immune system. We are here to support you with your choice.
